For advertising, there is one main way that I would use - and this would be using the internet! This is because, as my target audience is teenagers, and it is commonly known that most teenagers use the internet in one way or another. If I were to use the internet I would more than likely open my own web page for the magazine. This web page would be made up of the colour blue as this is the colour that is used on most social networking sites - something that teenagers are very familiar with. I would also set up a special twitter account and facebook page for the magazine, just like the Wyke Student Association has, so that it was easier for people to access it and know about it. I would ensure that it was also available on the wyke website.
This is my own mock up of the web page that I would make. I ensured that it was done in the colour blue as this is the colour that is associated with social networking websites - something that teenagers are very familiar with. I gave details of when the next issue would be situated also, as it is vital that the audience know this. I gave examples of links that would be on the page, such as to the twitter and facebook accounts that I would create for the magazine.
The actual magazine would be very different to the website. I would not want an actual online version of the magazine to be available on the website as then people would be able to just get it for free and not buy the actual thing. The website would be very simple and yet would still provide the links and information that is needed. Another thing that I would include on the website would be hints of what will be in the next magazine, so that it is tempting the readers to find out what is really going to happen in it and tempt them to buy it.

Contents Page
I like my final draft of my magazine cover as I believe that I have tied it together well with the front page. As I have edited the photo that is used as the background to eb the same colours as the text and boxes used on the page I believe that this gives it a more professional feel. The header is very clear and stands out on the page since it is a dark colour against quite a light background and it is also in a font suitable for teenagers.
I asked a friend their opinion of my contents page and they said that it looked very professional and that the colours tied in well together. They said that one thing that they would change would be to add more to the page, since there is only the header, the background and the article titles. However they did mention that the article titles are very easy to read and to associate with the page numbers.

Final Front Cover
I believe that I have done the best that I can on the front cover that I have produced: as I think that it looks quite professional as a front cover for a college magazine and very creative. I have ensured that the cover is very busy but in an organized layout and that all of the text is clear to see. I have kept a consistant house-colour scheme as I have used the colours teal, dark green and white. I have included things like the price and a bar code on the cover and some of the articles that would be included.
I asked a friend on their opinion of this cover and they said that it looked very professional. They said that the way that I have set out the cover, they would want to buy it. Another comment that they made was that the colours were enticing and that the picture on the cover drew you in and made you want to look at it. A criticism that they made was that the font used for the header was slightly old fashioned and might not have been the best for my target audience. They also mentioned that I should have placed the price of the magazine in a better location on the cover.

First few drafts
I asked my Dad on his opinion of this draft and he said that it was a lot better than the others and that it looked very professional, but that it lacked things such as the issue number and page numbers.
I asked my Mum what she thought of this product and she mentioned that in the bottom left corner, the "Wyke" text could have been clearer. Either this or that I should have placed it in an area of the cover where it would have been more visable. She also mentioned that I could have added more photos to the cover before I saved it as a draft, to see what it would have looked like more.
I asked a friend their opinion on this draft and they mentioned that the box where the text "WIN AN iPOD" is, it is covering too much of the photo and is also in an awkward place. They said that they liked the editing that I had done on the photo, but that the header could look more professional.
I asked a friend on their opinion of this draft and they also said that they liked the lighting and editing of the photo. They said that they also liked the decorative box of an image of space as reaching for the stars ties in with the header "Ambition".
